Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather

WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Ray C. Scott Jr., age 63, of Waterbury, share the news of his peaceful passing on February 9th, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Suhail (Castro) Scott.

Ray was born in Suffolk, Virginia, on December 31, 1961, the son of Pearl Ward of Waterbury and the late Ray C. Scott Sr. Ray was very dedicated and devoted to his job as a Financial Manager for Blasius Chevrolet in Waterbury. He absolutely loved being in the sales field, and he was very good at it, he could sell anyone anything. Ray was an outgoing and engaging conversationalist, known for his kindness and generosity. Ray Scott, an extremely kind- and warm-hearted person who loved his family. He was extremely hard-working, enjoyed all genres of music, went fishing, loved food and enjoyed taking pictures. Ray’s kindness allowed him to give back to the community in various ways. He was everyone’s favorite. He will truly be missed.

Besides his loving wife of 26 years, Suhail and his mother, Pearl, left to cherish and honor his memory are his children; Ray C. Scott III of Dallas, Texas, Rayquan Scott and his wife Angelique of North Carolina, Jazzmin Avellanet of Waterbury, Kameron Morring of South Korea, Bruce Scott of North Carolina and Derrick Scott of North Carolina, his second mother that he loved dearly, Gloria Scott of Suffolk, Virginia, his grandchildren; Kalianna, Christian and London and his siblings; Deborah Scott, Armenta Scott, Wanda Scott, Sean Scott, Tamika Scott and Timothy Scott. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

We would like to thank the ICU staff at Waterbury Hospital who provided lots of love and support until the very end.

Funeral services for Mr. Scott will be held on Tuesday, February 18th at 12:00 noon at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may pay their respects and visit with the Scott family from 10:00 a.m. until the service starts at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence and share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone who was important to you.
