Ray Robert began his earthly journey on Monday, March 31, 1947, son to Dillard Slayden and Sallie Moody Slayden. His wife, Gloria Faye Williams Slayden and parents preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church faithfully serving on the Deacon Board.
Ray was educated in the Montgomery County School System where he was a graduate of the Historic Burt High School. He enjoyed employment in the casting division of Nyrstar.
On March 6, 1971, Ray united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Gloria Faye Williams and this union was blessed with three children.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed shopping, going on vacation, and dancing. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.
On Friday, June 20, 2025, Ray departed this earthly life to be with the Lord.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished with sons: Andrea Slayden, Markis Williams; daughter, Dwanna Bowen, all of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Mayme Mayhem, Chicago, IL and Bertha Mercado, Gallatin, TN; brother, Zeomey Lee Slayden, Chicago, IL, and a host of nieces, ne[hews, cousins and friends.
