Ray Strange

Ray Sam Strange of Oxford, GA passed away at the age of 89 on October 21, 2022. Born and raised in Newton County. Ray served in the Army of United States Private-2 Infantry as Rifle Gunner, received the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Strange was employed and retired from General Motors with over 30 years. Ray was a member of the UAW and Elks Lodge 1806. Ray loved all animals and had numerous bird dogs and many strays during his lifetime. Ray loved to fish and hunt. Ray was a devoted husband to the love of his life Geneva. Mr. Strange is preceded in death by his wife Geneva M. (Nennie) Strange. His parents, James and Sarah Strange, Brothers Henry E. (Hubby), James (Grady) and Frank Jerrell Strange and sister Linda Strange. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and family members. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
