Ray Subia, age 62, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on December 23, 2025.
Ray was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his kind and generous nature and for the deep love he had for his family, who were always his highest priority. Ray was truly the heart of his family, offering strength, guidance, and unwavering support to all who knew him.
He had a passion for riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Ray found great joy in being present in their lives and creating lasting memories with them. His love for his grandchildren was evident to all and was one of the greatest joys of his life.
Ray dedicated 33 years of service to Freeport-McMoRan, where he was known for his strong work ethic, commitment, and leadership. Although he was never able to retire, he took great pride in his work and served as a mentor to many, always willing to share his knowledge, guidance, and support. His influence and legacy extended far beyond his years of service.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Subia; his children, Desiree Subia and Ramon J. Subia Jr.; his son-in-law, Samuel Muniz; his daughter-in-law, Paulette Willms; his grandchildren, Michael, Juliana, Scarlett, Noah, Camila, Ramon, and Leilani; his parents, Jose Subia and Ramona Subia; his brothers, Sonny, Sam, Henry, and Rudy Subia; and his sister, Beatrice Holguin (Sissy). He is also survived by numerous extended family members, friends, and colleagues.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Homes–East, 750 N. Carolina.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at St. Frances Xavier Mother Cabrini Catholic Church, 12200 Vista Del Sol.

Ray will be remembered for his faith, devotion to family, dedication to his work, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
