Ray Wildeson Obituary

Ray Thomas Wildeson, 72, passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 21st, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pa to his late parents, Calvin and Margaret Wildeson.

After graduating high school in Pittsburgh, Ray joined the Air Force where he proudly served 4 years before deciding to continue his education and passion for engineering. Upon graduating from Christopher Newport University with a degree in Applied Physics, he worked for 36 years as a Mechanical Engineer where he's credited as having 9 patents for the design of various fuel injection systems.

Ray married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Wildeson, July 8th, 1973. The two remained happily married for 51 years until the day of his passing.

Ray's love of his family was evident throughout his life. He dedicated most of his free time to coaching, refereeing, and helping friends and family with different DIY projects. Ray's mindset of putting other's happiness before his was truly unmatched and endearing.

Ray was preceeded in death by his parents, Calvin and Margaret Wildeson, and infant daughter, Kelly Wildeson.

Ray is survived by his wife, Virginia Wildeson; siblings Renee Kimmele, Calvin (Kevin) Wildeson; Jeanette (Randy) Nicholson; two sons, Nicholas Wildeson, Alex Wildeson (Casey Driver); and two granddaughters, Kinsley and Briar Wildeson.

I am so sorry to hear about Ray's passing. I worked with him, starting back in the late 80's in Engineering up until the time he left Continental. He was a great friend and always wanting to help in any way he could. He will be greatly missed!
