Rayetta Jene Buffington-Damon

Rayetta Jene Buffington-Damon, a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, tragically passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Benkelman, NE, at the age of 44.

In her younger days Rayetta enjoyed spending time with family, BMX bicycle racing and hanging out with friends. She obtained her G.E.D. in lieu of her high school diploma. We moved to Benkelman in August of 2022.

She will be remembered for her loving, caring and giving personality, her loyalty to family and friends. Ray was an extremely hard worker and would go out of the way to help anyone.

Ray was preceded in death by her father, Jack Buffington and her sons, Raiden Buffington and Jaxson Damon.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Buffington-Damon, her children, Christopher Shirk (Harley), Michael Damon, Isabela Schrieber, mother, Rojene Buffington, siblings, Hillary Ramsey, Lincoln Buffington (Andrea), Erica Mugler-Smith (Kyle), Krystal King (Ron) Donna Veroneau and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins nieces nephews and grandchildren.
