Raylene Slimp Obituary
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 27, 2024 at Immanuel Baptist Church with burial at Deep Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
David Slimp and Louis Horton will officiate. Pallbearers include Zachery Tipton, Randy Tidwell, Jes Slimp, Garrett Slimp, Shade Slimp, David Flores, Jacob Martin and William Martin.
Raylene was born November 24, 1938 to Millard Ray and Leita Alene (White) Crunk in Greenwood, Texas. She was united in marriage May 30, 1953 to James Howard Slimp in Decatur, Texas. Raylene was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Alene Crunk; her husband, James Howard Slimp; a brother, Billy Crunk, and her grandson, Chris Tidwell.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her daughters, Debbie Denney of Chico, and Shelly Nail of Farmers Branch and husband Lane; her sons, Jim Slimp and wife Tammy of Decatur, Johnny Slimp and wife Monica of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nora VanHoose of Chico, and Barbara Brooks of Decatur; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
