Raymond E. Applegate

Raymond E. Applegate passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 19, 2025 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis at the age of 70. He was born on November 29, 1954. Raymond was one of five children to the late Paul William and Thomasine Virginia Sheridan Applegate.

After his school days, Raymond enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country for several years. When he returned from his service time he went to work in the construction industry, where he worked as a stone mason. Raymond was a long time employee of B.A. Stone Company in Hamilton, Ohio, he greatly enjoyed working side by side with his brothers.

He went on to marry the former Alice May Frye. Together they raised 3 children.

Raymond was known to be a true workaholic, he loved what he did, and he enjoyed nothing more than putting in the time and effort to support his family. When he was not working he adored spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed relaxing while playing a game of pool with friends. He also liked catching his favorite western show on TV or becoming informed by the local news. Raymond's most prized possession was his family and he loved nothing more than to spend time with them. He will sorely missed by all who he adored.

Along with his wife of 40 years, Alice, he is survived by his family; Candida Faye Canada, Jaydynn Parks, Tessa Parks, Osilas Kenneth Faye, David Applegate, Jeffrey Raymond (Tiffany) Frye, Aleena Frye, Ameela Frye, Jeffrey Frye II, Aveera Frye, Jovetta Richardson, Preston Frye, Frank Waller, 7 bonus grandchildren and 4 bonus great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his brother William "Bud" (Kathy) Applegate, his brothers-in-law Jimmy (Lorna) Frye, Jerry Frye, and his sister-in-law Lora (Frank) Wilson.

Along with his parents, Raymond his preceded in death by his daughter Gloria Applegate, his siblings; Donald "Butch" Applegate, Darlene Applegate Lewis, Mary Applegate Wells, his in-laws; Preston and Hazel Frye, and a grandson Franklin Waller.

Friends and family may visit Urban Winkler Funeral Home located at 513 W 8th Street Connersville, IN 47331, on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 12:00PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Laurel North Cemetery.
