Raymond George Arff Jr., age 71, of Ingleside, Illinois was born August 12, 1954, passed away January 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to his family. A beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Raymond’s life was defined by the care he showed others and the steady presence he provided to those he loved.
Raymond was the proud father of three children: Ashley, Raymond, and Cody, who were the center of his world. He was also a loving grandfather to Peyton Arff, whom he cherished deeply. As a father, Raymond was always present—offering great advice, a sense of humor, and serving as a constant provider and protector for his family.
Known for his kind heart, strength, patience, devotion, and humor, Raymond touched many lives. He had a special passion for coaching youth sports, where he enjoyed mentoring and encouraging young people. He was a great pillar of the community running Grant Feeder Basketball for over 20 years. He also loved camping up north, finding peace and joy in the outdoors and time spent with family.
Raymond dedicated many years of his career to working for the Illinois Department of Transportation for over 30 years, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment. His faith and values guided the way he lived his life and treated others, offering quiet strength through both good times and challenges.
Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Joyce Louise Arff; father, Raymond George Arff; and brother, Rory Arff. He now joins them in eternal peace. He is survived by his loving children, his cherished grandchild, and his brother, Randall Arff, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Raymond’s memory will live on through his children, his grandchild, and all those whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered for the guidance, laughter, sacrifices, and unconditional love he shared so freely. He will forever remain in our hearts.
