Freda Amanda Cobb Behm of Grayslake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, surrounded by her daughters.
Freda was born on July 26, 1951 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She grew up on a farm in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina, received a bachelors in Zoology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA from DePaul University. She worked most of her career in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Freda loved being a mom. She was deeply spiritual and spent much of her life growing in the church. She had a lifelong love of learning and travel, and found peace in long walks and a good book.
She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Behm (Justin duRivage), Anna Behm (Joey Falduto), Andrea Behm (Christopher Waage), her granddaughters, Sophie duRivage and Cricket Falduto, her sister Martha Cobb Ellinger (Dr. Harley Ellinger), and former husband and friend Louis Behm. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Ambrose Cobb and Margaret Lee McDuffie Cobb, and her sister, Jean Cobb Lewis.
A celebration of life will take place at 11am on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Saint Lawrence Episcopal Church, at 125 W Church St, Libertyville, IL 60048. Interment will follow at a later date in North Carolina.
