Raymond N Bertelsen

Raymond N. Bertelsen, 91, passed away peacefully December 9, 2022. As a lifelong educator, Ray was proud of his years at Bowling Green City Schools, Otterbein University, and Westerville City Schools. He served in the capacity of a Math Teacher, Coach, Mentor, School Counselor, Assistant Principal, Curriculum Director, and Westerville City Schools Central Office Administrator.
Member of Kiwanis Club of Westerville, former Kiwanis Lieutenant Governor of Division 10E, Masonic Lodge Crystal Chapter 157 (Bowling Green, Ohio). Former Board member of Westerville Public Library, Habitat for Humanity, Westerville Visitors & Convention Bureau and member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Preceded in death by parents, Randulf and Johanna (Johannsen); loving wife of 57 years Roberta (Alloway); brother and sister-in-law Bert and Helen Bertelsen; brothers-in-law Sam Alloway and Al Barney; nephews Bruce Barney and David Alloway.
Survived by sister Margaret Barney, children Kathy (Jeff) Reedy, Eric (Lorrie) Bertelsen, Cynthia Bertelsen and Mike (Linda) Bertelsen; grandchildren Danielle (Mike) Brown, Meghan (Klint) Newer, David (Rachel) Reedy, Kevin Bertelsen, Tyler (fiancee Morgan) Bertelsen and Dylan Bertelsen. Great grandchildren Peyton,Henry, Parker and Finn; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville 1-4 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 East Schrock Road, Westerville with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Matt Cox officiating. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Grace Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund in Rays memory.
