Raymond Harold Bragg, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Fayetteville Healthcare Center, Fayetteville.
Born May 23, 1931, at Bowling, WV, he was the son of the late Oather and Lena Modena (Massie) Bragg.
Raymond was a retired coalminer with 30 plus years of service and was a member of UMWA. He was a member of the Salem Gatewood Freewill Baptist Church and attended the Virginia Street Baptist Church. In his leisure he enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid farmer and loved the outdoors. Raymond was always good to help his neighbors anyway that he could. He was the oldest of seven children.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Colleen (McGraw) Bragg; and two brothers, Billy and Carl Bragg.
Those left to cherish his memory include his three sisters, Gayla Jean Dyer, Lula Mae Rowe, and Sonja Perkins; brother, James Bragg; and special friend, Larry Withrow.
Graveside service and burial will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 23, 2026 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley with Rev. Charles Hardy officiating.
For those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter, 513 Shelter Rd, Fayetteville, WV 25840.
