Mr. Raymond Lee Brown, age 89

Of Waverly, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Ascension St. Thomas Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly. He was born on May 1, 1936, in Waverly, TN. For work, Raymond was an employee of the Consolidated Aluminum Corporation. He was also a hard-working farmer and logger and was featured as Brown Logging, along with his son, in Southern Loggin’ Times magazine in both 2006 and 2010.

Raymond was a proud member of the Halls Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He made a lasting impact on his church family by being an elder of the church, leading singing, and spreading God’s word during his Sunday School teachings.

Raymond was well known in his community by serving on the County Planning Commission, Farm Bureau Board, Equalization Board, and being on the Board of Directors for the Hillcrest and Averitt Cemeteries. In 2009, he also was presented with the Conservation Award for his outstanding accomplishments in soil and water conservation by the Humphreys County Soil Conservation District.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Burkhardt and Bro. Tom Jehnzen officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Waverly, TN.
