Raymond Cantrell

Raymond passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Santa Fe, NM on March 31, 1953 to his father, Mark Cantrell and mother, Ruby Cantrell Ulibarri.

Raymond was raised in the Espanola Valley and graduated from Espanola Valley High School. Following high school, he served in the Marines Corps and he was a very proud veteran. He was known for his love of sports, sense of humor, and kind heart. Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father Mark and mother Ruby. He is survived by his wife Jackie Cantrell of Rio Rancho, NM, his daughters Lisa Cantrell of Espanola, NM, Cherie Romero and (Carl Marano) of Pojoaque, NM, his son Raymond Cantrell Jr. of Rio Rancho, NM and wife (Andrea Cantrell), his grandchildren: Shawn Plemons, Jason Ray Dowdy (Allison Dowdy), Dylan Romero, Nazarae Romero, Rayna Cantrell, Jeslyn Nevarez, Jenna Nevarez, his partner in crime and great granddaughter, Acelynn Ray, and several other family members and friends. 

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 11-11:30 a.m. and followed by a celebration of life at the DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.
