Raymond P. Crowell, of Ashby, a longtime resident of Boxborough, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025. He was 91 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Karen (Erkkinen) Crowell who passed away in 2019.
Mr. Crowell was born in Concord and grew up in Waltham, son of the late Clifford and Eva (Doucette) Crowell. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. Upon his discharge, he earned his associate's degree from Northeastern University in 1961. After his marriage to Karen, they lived in Waltham and Acton for a short time before settling in Boxborough in 1965 where they would raise their family. Mr. Crowell worked in information technology with Raytheon for over fifty years. He was a longtime member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Acton where he was a member of the choir for over thirty years. Outside of work, he enjoyed time spent with his family at their home in Dennisport. He also a devoted follower of all New England sports.
Mr. Crowell is lovingly survived by his three sons, Scott Matthew Crowell and his wife Hope of Springfield, Oregon, Keith Andrew Crowell and Kimberly Conneilly of Ashby, MA and Glenn Paul Crowell and his wife Angelique of Marlborough, NH. He was the loving grandfather of Amy and Ashley and great-grandfather of Maxwell. He also leaves his two sisters, Clare Anne Ashness of York, ME and Kathleen Kolenda of Groton, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, March 4th from 4:00-6:00PM in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) Acton. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5th at 10:00AM in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 472 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) Acton. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Burroughs Road, Boxborough.
