Passed away at his home on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Raymond was born on March 4, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late, Raymond F. and Barbara (Cornell) Eagly. After graduating from high school, Raymond joined the work force as a welder and worked for Borroughs Manufacturing, where he would retire after 43 years. Raymond’s favorite hobbies were bowling, golfing, fishing, watching college football and the Detroit Tigers, going to the casino, spending time with family, and watching his grandson play baseball. He went out to breakfast with his retired work friends on a weekly basis and enjoyed going to dinner with his high school friends.
Surviving Raymond are his children, Jason Eagly, Rachel (Ken) Hughes; grandchildren, Aidan Luckett, Madilynn Ludy, Brynleigh Eagly, Mason Wice; and his cousins, Teddy, Sharon, Sherry, Cookie, and Nyla. Preceding him in passing are his parents.
To honor Raymond, a visitation will take place from 11am to 12pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 411 East Centre Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49002. Funeral service will ensue immediately following visitation at 12pm. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park, South at 1:30pm. The reception is after the graveside service at Oakwood Neighborhood Association. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Oakwood Neighborhood Association, 3320 Laird Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49008.
