Raymond John Godzina, born on June 24, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on June 20, 2025, in New Boston, Michigan, at the age of 92. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family above all else.

Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret, with whom he shared almost 61 years of marriage, as well as his children: Julie Fleury, John (Sandra) Godzina, and Jill (Bradley) Evans. Raymond cherished his 6 grandchildren: Laura (Chase) Solper, Leah (Jason Just) Fleury, Jenna Fleury, Jake Godzina, Dr. Brittni (Brenden) Meyer, and Bryn Evans, and adored his 8 great-grandchildren: Sullivan, Colby, Ezra, Elijah, Colten, Aislyn, Lilah, and Lincoln. He also leaves behind many family members and friends.

He retired from a fulfilling career at McClouth Steel as a welder for nearly 30 years. Here he dedicated many years of hard work and commitment. In his retirement, Raymond found joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his spare time, Raymond loved working on cars and various projects.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM. An Honor Guard Service will be held at 5:00 PM to commemorate his service in the Army during the Korean War. A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM. A service will be held at St. Mary, Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church in Rockwood, Michigan, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025; Instate: 10:00 AM with mass at 10:30 AM. Entombment at Michigan Memorial Park immediately following church service.

Raymond will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
