Raymond C. Hartmann

Raymond C. Hartmann, 79, of Irwin, died Thursday, October 16, 2025, at home. He was born May 8, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles and Wilda (Earnest) Hartmann. Ray was an Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict serving with the 173rd Airborne and had retired as owner of Ray's Jacktown Service which he operated for 35 years and also operated the Boron station on the corner of Rt. 30 and Arona Rd. for 7 years prior to that. Ray was a former board member of the Petroleum Retailer and Auto Repair Association and was known to help a lot of people who were down on their luck with car repairs. He loved traveling and road trips and once won a '92 Chevrolet Z24 convertible which was his "baby." He was a big kid at heart and will be missed for his loud and unique version of happy birthday. He also was a support person for The Parkinson's Foundation and enjoyed being the bus driver for the Happy Methodists social events. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Emily A. (Arlet) Hartmann; his son Dondi Hartmann; siblings George (the late Kathy) Hartmann and Jean (George) Klein; sisters-in-law Saundra (the late Jim) Regrut, Bonnie (Chris) Follett, and Debbie (David) Moss; also numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister-in-law Sharon (Bill) McMurray. Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made in Ray's name to Tunnels to Towers at www.t2t.org.
