Born March 29, 1934 in Jayton, Texas to parents Lester and Jewel Hollabaugh, Raymond attended Stamford ISD from sixth-grade through graduation and later attended John Tarleton Junior College in Stephenville, Texas from 1951 to 1954 before entering the United States Army in 1954. Hollabaugh returned to school, graduating from North Texas College in 1958 with a BBA in Insurance, and South Texas College of Law in 1964 with a LLB degree. After serving as the Assistant District Attorney of Polk County and operating as an independent insurance adjuster from 1965-1967, Hollabaugh, along with his wife, Elizabeth, and two sons, Raymond Jr. and John Sirman, moved to Stamford where he established a private law practice in 1967 that continued until 2022. He was a member of St. John's Methodist Church and a Past Chairman of the Board. Raymond also served as a Chairman of the Texas Cowboy Reunion from 1967 to 2021. The State Bar of Texas recognized him for 50 years of practice in 2014. Although Raymond had many interests, his true passion was most definitely his family. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
