Raymond Lakeman Obituary
Raymond was born on October 14, 1931, in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Raymond B. Lakeman and Juliet G. Lakeman.
Raymond was a US Navy Veteran who served as a medic with the Marine Corps in Korea. Raymond worked for the New England Telephone Company for over 38 years and the Laconia Police Department and as a bailiff for the Belknap County Sheriff's Department for over 57 years.
Raymond loved life and most of all his family. He is survived by his sons, David and his wife Renee, Steven and his wife Darlene, and Michael and his wife Heather; daughter, Nancy Dow and her husband Daniel; daughter-in-law, Anne Lakeman; ten grandchildren, Shari Bugieda and her husband Jason, Adam Dow, Hannah Dow, Kristina Lakeman and her partner Jay Beaudoin, Robert Lakeman III, Jennifer Lakeman-Davis and her husband Eric Davis, Patrick Lakeman and his wife Makayla, Raymond Hodges, Krystal Cormier, and Jason McLaughlin; and eight great-grandchildren, Zack Lehneman, Zoe Magdich, Claire Dow, Hallie Ricker, Samara Hodges, Alora Hodges, Brooklyn McLaughlin, Justin Cormier, and Mira Davis. In addition to his parents, Raymond is predeceased by his wife Claire (Guyer) Lakeman; son Robert Lakeman; brothers Richard Lakeman and John Lakeman; and sister Jacqulin McDonald.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 10:00am, at the St. Andre Bessette Parish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia NH.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia, NH.

My condolences to the Lakeman families. I knew Ray from working in the same office on North Main Street in Concord NH. Actually David worked there for a while.
Ray was friendly and funny also. He was part of a carpool from Laconia. Seems like they had a survival package in the car to remove stress. He was part of a legend of great workers from Laconia. We all have some great memories of him. May He Rest In Peace.

I will never forget Mr. Lakeman. It was he who gave a struggling Holy Trinity teach in 1972-73 a job with the Boston Bruins, during their heyday, as a member of the Don Awrey summer scho l for hockey players. Transformed my life and am forever thankful. Rest in Peace, you had a full life.
