Raymond LeClair Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Miller New Brighton Chapel on Dec. 19, 2025.
Raymond M. LeClair, age 78, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away on December 8, 2025. Born June 30, 1947, in Graceville, Minnesota, Ray was known for his caring spirit, kindness, and strength. He was always ready to help friends and family in need.

Ray proudly served in the United States Navy for four years, a testament to his dedication and strength. After his military service, he married and began a career with Catco, where he was respected by colleagues and customers for his work ethic and camaraderie.

Outside of work, Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and tinkering in his garage. He especially cherished time spent at his grandchildren's sporting events, quietly supporting them from the sidelines.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy LeClair; daughter, Melissa Lawlis (Mark); son, Mike LeClair (Paula); grandchildren, Grant and Kolton Lawlis, and Maia, Hudson, and Louis LeClair; brothers Lonnie, Bob, and Roy LeClair; sisters Janette Brandenburger and Dorothy Shafte; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and George LeClair; sister, Linda Sand; and brothers Lyle, Dennis, and Dale LeClair.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, at St. John the Baptist Church, 835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, with a luncheon to follow. A private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ray's name to American Legion Post 180 in New Effington, South Dakota, or to Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The family has entrusted Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home of New Brighton with arrangements.
