Raymond H. Mackes Jr.

Raymond H. Mackes, Jr., 82, of Tatamy, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
He was born on July 15, 1942 to Raymond and Mabel (Frantz) Mackes in Monroe County. Ray was married for 54 years to Carol (Evans) before her passing in September 2023.
Ray was a graduate of Nazareth High School, Churchman's Business School and spent two years in the U.S. Navy, traveling the world. Ray worked as an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance Company, retiring in 2019. He was a member of St. Peter's U.C.C. Church in Tatamy and enjoyed car shows, going to household sales and played piano his entire life. He was also a member of Tatamy/Stockertown Lion's Club, the Masons, Tall Cedars and the Odd Fellows Aluta Lodge.
Ray was predeceased by his wife Carol, sister Lillian and brother in law, Ernest Engler. He is survived by his sons, Kyle (wife Catrina) and Jared, and one grandson Emmitt, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 1st at St. Peter's UCC Church, 401 Broad Street, Tatamy.
