Raymond Marlin, 65, and resident of the Lubbock State Supported Living Center since 1978, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Raymond was born on September 15, 1960, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to the late Raymond Edgar Marlin, Sr. and Mary Ann Marlin.
Although mostly a quiet and non-verbal individual, he was a kind and loving person. He loved the smell of lavender, and the lavender lotion rubs that helped calm him down. He loved it when his caregivers rub his head. He was known to some of the staff as Uncle Raymond.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his caregivers and support staff at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center, as well as his fellow residents.
Thank you to everyone at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center who cared for and watched over Raymond during his almost 48 years there.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 2 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in the Chapel at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Chaplain Wayne Moore officiating. Final rites and interment will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.
