He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Ellen, son James (Sarah) McCracken, son-in-law John Meldrum, grandchildren Amelia Meldrum, Claire Meldrum, Owen McCracken, George, and Rocco, and brother Edward (Mari) McCracken. Dr. McCracken also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews.
Dr. McCracken was preceded in death by his father Edward McCracken, mother Mary McCracken (Hannaway), daughter Katherine (Katie) Elizabeth Meldrum, and sister Rosemary Hawley.
Visitation will be held at the Wasik Funeral Home located at 35259-23 Mile Road in New Baltimore on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Instate in church from 10:30 a.m. until an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, September 9th, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church located at 9764 Dixie Highway in Ira Township.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School, 7043 Church Road, Ira Township, MI 48023.

I will always remember how gentle, kind and considerate Raymond was even in his twenties,
I went to visit my cousin Raymond from Scotland to Michigan when I was just 14 in 1972,
He took me along with him one day to visit his patients at the psychiatric hospital were he was working at the time and I could see the love and affection that everyone including patients and staff had for Raymond who was just starting his career at the time and was only 24yrs old,
Rest in peace Raymond you will be sadly missed,
