With great sadness, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, Raymond C. Nelson (Ray), 66, passed in his home in Pensacola Florida, January 25, 2024. Born in 1957, in Marietta Georgia and later moved to Pensacola in 2009.
Ray graduated from California State College of Forestry. He lived many years in Northern California among the redwood trees he loved. A forester by trade, he fought to protect and persevere nature and animals. Nature was Ray's true calling, and in the wilderness, he was at home.
Ray is survived by his mother, Stella Hill. His sisters, Barbara Holland and Lorrie Strickland and his daughter, Genevieve Marquis.
