Raymond Oakley Obituary

Raymond E. Oakley, loving brother

CUBA - Raymond E. Oakley, of West Main Street, Cuba, formerly of Weston Mills, passed away Saturday (Aug. 23, 2025).

Ray was born April 1, 1950, in Olean, and was the son of Phillip D. and Vernice R. Streight Oakley.

Ray enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1971, where he served until 1973 when he was honorably discharged.

He held a number of jobs throughout his life, including a security guard at a hospital in Zephyrhills, Fla., before moving back to the Olean Area.

Ray is survived by his three children, Esther, James and Anthony "Tony" Oakley; a sister, Georgia M. Carr of Allegany; and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was predeceased by his parents; and seven siblings, Larry Oakley, James Oakley, Patricia Hill, Donald Oakley, Howard Oakley, Jerry Oakley and Phyllis Oakley.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at the Five Mile Cemetery, Allegany, beginning with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 ritual team. The Rev. Russell Maine will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St.
