It is with my deepest sympathy that I leave this condolence message regarding my Uncle Raymond. I just want everyone to know what a great uncle he had been to me over the years. When I was little, my father Ronald Pace (Raymonds youngest brother) and my mother Geraldine Pace would bring my sister Nicole and I to Torrington, CT to visit. We would always be sure to stop by Uncle Rays and Aunt Anns house where we would visit with our cousins Billy, Karen, and Cheryl. Sometimes we would play catch with the baseball in the yard, or we would all watch a movie on TV. Their house was always alive with family and friends coming and going and we always had a great time eating some of the best Italian food in Torrington, CT. When I was older, Raymond always hosted us in his screened-in garagethe cleanest, most organized garage I have ever been in by far, and we would always drink his favorite beer: Saint Pauli Girl. Once, I even got to join him for a visit to the Tavern where he would go almost every weekend to have a cold one with his brothers Frank and Nick. I think it is important to mention that not only was my Uncle Raymond was a proud Navy Veteran, who then put his technical skills to work at the Torrington Company for 40 years after his Navy service, but I would also like to mention his Mother: Florence (Frieda) Pace, who was a 5-time Blue Star Mother, where all 5 of her sons: Nick-Navy: WWII, Joe-Navy, Frank-USMC Korean War, Raymond-Navy, and Ron-USAF, all had made a commitment to defending this nation and served overseas, which would be an extreme rarity today. It is this commitment of service to the nation by our greater Pace family that inspired me to serve in the Active Army and Army Reserve for almost 25-years. In remembering my Uncle Raymond, it is important for people to know that with his Navy service he was committed to protecting our country. Then when he returned from his Navy service, he had that same level of commitment in making Torrington, CT, a great place to be a citizen and raise a family. Uncle Raymond will always be missed by this Soldier and our family. Rest in Peace. Love always,
COL Noel Christian Pace, U.S. Army Reserve
