Raymond Payeur Obituary
Published by Legacy on Aug. 28, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Raymond J. Payeur (66), of North Berwick, Maine left us on August 25, 2025. Born in Sanford, Maine
to Joseph Raymond and Shirley "Picken" Payeur, he graduated from Sanford High School and joined
the U.S. Air Force.
He proudly served our nation, in a distinguished capacity, as a U.S. Air Force Missile Systems
Analyst Specialist from 1978 to 1983, having top security clearance as his work required absolute
discretion and receiving numerous medals and awards such as Expert Marksman and Good Conduct.
After serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, he had a successful civilian career as an engineer with
various companies before joining TurboCam International in 2014. He brought his leadership skills
and vast experience in machining to this growing aerospace manufacturing company. By the time he
left in 2022, slowed in body but not in spirit, he had raised up a new generation of machinists
specializing in critical rocket and aircraft engines, and often spoke with great pride of what he
accomplished.
He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He lived life with a passion for
traveling the world with his wife Linda and enjoyed meeting new friends along the way. He was also
an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman and loved creating beautiful woodwork, metal crafts and
machinery. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his family and friends, and the way he
lived life serves as a guide for us to always do our best and to value honesty, respect, hard work and
determination.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, son Benjamin and wife Abby and grandsons Max and Leo,
son Eric and wife Taylor and grandson Emerson, step-sons Steven Jankoski and Michael Jankoski,
father Raymond, sister Nancy Stare and husband Mike, sister Alice Levesque and husband Charlie,
sister Nora McLean, brother Daniel and wife Evelyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his mother Shirley.
He was a source of unwavering love and support, so the gap he leaves behind is immeasurable. His
intelligent, yet playful sense of humor, will last in our memory as a source of strength and comfort for
the rest of our lives. His wish was that this world show love and compassion to all that share it.
A celebration of his life, with family and friends, will be held at a later date.
