Raymond Kenneth Ray, 87, passed away on January 21, 2026. Services will be Friday, January 30, 2026 beginning with visitation at 10 am followed by the funeral service at 12 noon at Portland Memorial Baptist Church, 3800 W. Market Street. interment will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.

Born to Leroy and Catherine Ray in Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Ray was one of four children, having two brothers and one sister, all of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Bernice Ray, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. From this union, they were blessed with six children. He was also the proud father of a daughter, Leica.

Mr. Ray was the loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy. He honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career, retiring from both the United States Post Office and UPS. A man of faith, Mr. Ray was a devoted member of Portland Memorial Baptist Church. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling and was an active participant in the Retired Servicemen's League for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Ray; children, Raymond Ray Jr. (Sharon), Cathy Berry, Janet (Juan), David Ray, and Leica Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his brother Leroy Ray, his sister Joyce Ray, and his sons, Sidney Ray and Ralph Ray.
