Funeral mass for Raymond Ridl, 92, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2023 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Father Bill Ruelle will celebrate the mass.  Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 -7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Stevenson Funeral Home with rosay and vigil held at 6:00 p.m.

Ray passed away February 5, 2023 at Country House in Dickinson.

Raymond Ridl was born January 28, 1931 to Anton and Eleanor (Samek) Ridl, northeast of Dickinson on the family farm. He attended country school and then Model High School.  He met Regina Hanel at a dance and the couple was married on May 5, 1952 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. To this union, five children were born: Diane, Marie, Kathleen, Marjory and Allen. The couple made their home in Dickinson. Ray worked at Kramer Sheet Metal for over 50 years. He enjoyed the great outdoors; gardening, fishing, hunting, and daily walks.

His hobbies included wood working, coin collecting, reading Louis L’Amour books, and listening to Czech music.

The greatest gift Ray gave to his family was his Catholic faith.

Ray is survived by his son, Allen (Char) Ridl, Dickinson; three daughters, Diane Kovash (Galen Steffan- fiancé), Kathleen (Steve) Zimmerman and Margie Ficek all of Dickinson; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Hulstein (Matthew, James, Carly, Julia), Vanessa (Brian) Smith (Alex, Scarlett, Evie, Henry, Theo), Jesse (Patty) Kovash, Lindsey (Dave) Kuntz (Hayden, Amelia), Lacey (Ryan) Unruh (Aurora, Cecelia), Elissa (Brian) Forster (Cassie, Brooklyn, Abby), Eric (Bryndon) Lembke (Avery, Evan), Alison Ficek, Aric Ficek (Grace Nicholson-fianceé) and Ann Ridl.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Regina, on May 1, 2009; parents, Anton and Eleanor; infant daughter, Marie; son-in-law, Monte Kovash; siblings, Clarence Ridl, Tony Ridl, Grace Wetzel, and Gene Ridl.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul: 343 2nd Ave W. Dickinson, ND 58601.
