Raymond C. Riddles Sr.

Raymond C. Riddles, Sr., a long-time resident of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Family and Loved Ones Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Riddles, whom he married in 1971 and who passed away in 1986. He was also predeceased by his wife of 20 years, Opal McCall Riddles, as well as his son, Raymond C. Riddles, Jr. In addition, Raymond was preceded in death by his brothers Carlton H. Riddles, Benjamin T. Riddles, and Rodney Riddles, and his sisters Bertha Gardos, Pauline Mathewson, Thelma Spell, Sally Odom, and Vivian Riddles. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Riddles Petrie, and son-in-law, Randolph Petrie; his daughter-in-law, Sandra E. Riddles; and his son, Gary Riddles. Raymond is also remembered by his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Passion for Sports and Community Service Raymond's love for baseball and sports was evident throughout his life. He dedicated many years to coaching little league baseball and football, touching the lives of countless young athletes. In recognition of his commitment, the Raymond Riddles Athletic Park bears his name. Service and Career For over 70 years, Raymond was an active member of the American Legion, Post 33, where he devoted himself to serving veterans and their families. Professionally, he worked as an engineer at NAS Pensacola and, following his retirement, continued to contribute his expertise to Lockheed-Martin and Verify. Raymond C. Riddles will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully.
