Raymond E. Smith, age 78, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at his home in Harpster.
Ray was born on October 15, 1947 in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Raymond and Mary Alice (Nunley) Smith, both of whom are deceased. He married Diane DeBolt on April 28, 1972, and she survives.
He is also survived by his 2 children: Tonya Smith of Bucyrus, and Nathan (Jodi) Smith of Cape Coral, Florida, along with 4 grandchildren: Kaylina, Dalton, Caley, and Jaxen, and 2 great grandchildren, Shiloh and Ezelynn.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Anna Patchett, Sarah Hough, Carmaleda “Carmie” Sayre, and Stella Schoenberger.
Ray was a 1966 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, and had worked for Reber Farms in Upper Sandusky, for over 30 years. He worked in his retirement for the former Hickory Grove Golf Club in Harpster.
For hobbies, Ray enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and hunting, looking for arrowheads, and was an avid golfer. He also was a lifelong BUCKEYE FAN.
A celebration of life service for Ray E. Smith will be held at a later date.
