Jan S. Case, 70, of Carey, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, with his daughter by his side.

He was born on April 1, 1955, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Wm Stewart and Helen (Alspach) Case. In addition to his parents, Jan was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Helen (Schifer) Case and Jarry Case.

Jan graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1973. He spent the latter part of his career at Vaughn Industries, where he held many roles and was loved by all who worked with him.

He worked for the Wyandot County Sheriff’s office until 1981, as well as the Upper Sandusky Volunteer Fire Department.

He loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, especially when his son rode alongside him and his daughter on his back. He had a great love for The Ohio State Buckeyes, The Cleveland Browns, and tractor pulls. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his extended family at Buzzard’s Roost.

Jan was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Moose, VFW, and American Legion Post 225.

He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Tricia) Case of Carey, and his daughter, Taylor (Austin) Dearborn of Medina. He was a devoted and proud grandfather who loved spending time with and spoiling his beloved grandchildren, Haisley, Lennox, Ivy, and Grier.

Jan is also survived by his sisters, Joyce (Case) Kuenzli, widow of the late Frank Kuenzli, and Joanne (Sherry Rettig) Case, sister in law Cynthia (Lorenz) Case, and many nieces and nephews.

He was previously married to Pam (Ohl) Case and Beth (Mewhorter) Mullen.

In accordance with Jan’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor his memory.

Jan will be so deeply missed by his family, friends, and the countless friends who became family along the way.

The family of Jan Case would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Bridge Hospice, Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Hanco, and the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, for the loving care and transportation services that Jan received the past few months.

Memorial contributions may be made to Route 30 Charities for “Bikin’ for Boobies” and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
