Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bringman-Clark Funeral Home on Jan. 28, 2026.
Carol I. Althouse, age 93, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on January 19, 2026, at Kingston of Marion. She was born on November 25, 1932, in Galipolis, to Perry Ralph and Hazel Sisson Ralph.

Carol was united in marriage to Curtis O. Althouse on December 21, 1951. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2011. Together they shared many years of marriage and family life.

She is survived by her children, Jerry C. (Cindy) Althouse of Jacksonville, Florida, and Timothy M. Althouse of Harpster; Mark A. (Ileana) Althouse of Powell, Marianne Althouse of Marysville, her grandchildren, Jared Althouse, Keith (Samantha) Althouse, Tyler (Brittany) Althouse, Corey Schilder, Scott Althouse, Lindsay (Kyle) Prince, Jacob Althouse, Travis Althouse, Austin (Taylor) Ogarek, and Jordan (Arsala) Ogarek, step-granddaughter Alexandra Foster, her great grandchildren, Remington Althouse, Bellamy Althouse, Lincoln Althouse, Davis Prince, Caroline Althouse and Myles Prince, Isabella Althouse and Violet Althouse. She is also survived by her brother, Donald (Mary) Ralph.

In addition to her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sandy, brother, John Ralph and granddaughter Jaclyn S. Schilder.

Carol was a lifelong member of Harpster Methodist Church. A devoted farmer's wife and homemaker, she dedicated her life to her family and community, lovingly supporting and caring for those around her. Her family was her greatest love and highest priority. She served as a clerk for Antrim Township and also worked at Ridgedale Schools and Purex, always bringing dedication, kindness, and a strong work ethic to everything she did. She had a deep love for rock and roll music, sports, and reading, and she excelled at golf and bowling. A talented painter, she found great joy and peace in expressing herself through art. In her later years, she cherished the friendships she made at Kingston, enjoying the companionship, laughter, and time spent playing-and often winning-at bingo.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 27th from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following at 7:00 PM with Pastor Soo-Hea Park officiating. A private burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
