Chris Richman Obituary

Chris Allen Richman

Chris Allen Richman, 66, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at The Heritage Nursing Home in Findlay, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

He was born December 16, 1959, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Jimmie Lee and Joan Marie (Dimmick) Richman. On June 18, 1983, he married Elizabeth Ann (Berna) Richman at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne, Michigan, and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Also surviving are his children, Catie Richman of Upper Sandusky, Brad Richman of East Lansing, Michigan, and David Richman of Powell. He is further survived by his cousin, Scott (Heather) Moore of Portage, Michigan, who was a constant source of support and like a brother to Chris.

Chris was a 1978 graduate of Loy Norrix High School and went on to attend Michigan State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in journalism in 1982. It was during his college years that he met the love of his life, Beth.

He dedicated much of his career to journalism, serving as sports editor for the Daily Chief-Union in Upper Sandusky for 20 years. He later worked as Services and Supports administrator at Angeline for approximately 13 years. Chris was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was also a member of Elks Lodge.

Chris had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, riding his bike, reading, and photography. He loved history and keeping up with the news, had a deep appreciation for rock music, and found great joy in simple moments.

Chris will be remembered for his quiet, content nature and the humility that guided his life. He carried himself with gentle strength, never seeking recognition, but leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him through his kindness, humbleness, and steady presence.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who provided Chris with compassionate care and comfort during his time of need. Chris chose to donate his body to science, a final act of generosity that reflected his desire to help others. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Upper Sandusky Community Library in care of Bringman-Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Avenue, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
