Raymond Smith Obituary
Raymond E. Smith, age 77, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026.
Mr. Smith was born on December 11, 1948, in Hall County, to the late Harvey and Gertie Murphy Smith. He was self-employed in the poultry industry and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey David Smith.
Survivors include his wife Laraine Smith; son, Wesley Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Stephanie Smith; grandchildren, Kyle and Melissa Smith, Kade Smith, Kole Smith, Zeva Smith, Zadie Smith, Greenlee Grizzle, Paisley Grizzle, Madalyn Grizzle, Ella Grizzle, and Autumn Grizzle; great-grandson, Beckham Smith; siblings, Shirley Smith, Peggy Mayhue, Tinnie Smith, and Dovie McEntire.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 2, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Raymond Latty will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery – 1370 Calvary Church Road, Gainesville, GA 30507.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
