Raymond E. Soave
Born: September 13, 1943
Died: September 26, 2024
Raymond E. Soave, 81, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Raymond was born on September 13, 1943, in Joliet, IL, to Amel Soave and Josephine (nee Baiardo). Raymond leaves behind his daughter Melissa (Todd) Tietz as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Raymond was preceded in passing by his wife Dorothy (nee Hennessy). He was also predeceased by his parents, brothers Donald and Richard, one infant sister, and his Aunt Theresa (Chena) Soave. Raymond grew up in Joliet, IL, following his musical talent throughout his life. At the age of five, Raymond was already performing on the radio and at local venues and shows, including Al Pohler's "Memory Hour" radio show, and later performing live on WJOL in Joliet. He won many state contests for piano and accordion. Raymond was proud to be a musician, and loved entertaining people. Raymond enjoyed jazz music- playing and listening to it, as well as being outdoors. Raymond also enjoyed listening to Old Time Radio shows and classic Horror Movies from the 1930's and 40's. Raymond's family would like to extend a special thank you to Spring Creek Nursing and Rehab in Joliet, and Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care of Raymond and their support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Gentiva Hospice and The Alzheimer's Association to help fight Alzheimers and Dementia would be appreciated. Per Raymond's wishes, the family will be holding services privately. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois.
