Mr. Raymond Lee Spence, age 82 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. He was born in Patrick County on November 4, 1943 to the late Curtis Spence, and Mary DeHart Spence Hensley and Ellis Hensley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin Ayers, Fred Spence, and Bruce Spence; one sister, Judy Cassady; one brother-in-law, Larry Cassady; and one sister-in-law, Sue Spence. Raymond was a member of Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he loved attending church and being with his church family. He was a goodhearted, loving person that adored his family. He treasured being Papa to his grandson and great-granddaughter.

Left to cherish the memories of Raymond are his devoted wife of 58 years, Earlean Corns Spence; son, Randal Spence (Vicki); grandson, Dakota Spence (Jill); great-granddaughter, Ember Spence; four siblings, Margaret Massey, Sonny Spence (Betty), Frank Spence (Frances), and Junior Spence (Dorothy); sister-in-law, Phyllis Spence; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Spence will be held at New Beginnings Baptist Church on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the arrangements and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
