Raymond W. Strobel, 83, of Parrottsville, TN., formerly of Earlville, NY, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at his home. He was born November 8, 1941 in Oneida, a son of the late Lawrence W. and Jennie A. (Sternburg) Strobel and graduated from Earlville High School. Ray served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years, being deployed to Vietnam for 14 months.
On January 24, 1964, in the Earlville United Methodist Church, he married Sheilah Paige.
Mr. Strobel owned and operated Strobel Contractors, Cazenovia and later was the manager of Chokoloskee RV Park & Marina - Everglades, from 1990 until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, making jewelry and was a gem cutter.
Surviving is his wife, Sheilah, a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Kirk Dausman, of Chincoteague, VA., a son, Michael Strobel, of Parrottsville, TN., granddaughters, Elizabeth Dausman, of Pocomoke, MD., Rebekah Dausman, of Chincoteague, VA.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, NY 13332. Military honors followed.
Interment in the Earlville Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
