Raymond also enjoyed Fishing, cooking and going to church. He just enjoyed life. He was raised by a special aunt and uncle George and Lizzie Fields.
He gained his wings and took his final rest on Monday September 25, 2025 at his residence after a short illness. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Joyce, his special aunt and uncle George and Lizzie Fields, two brother, Jessie Reed and Zeggory Thompkins and one sister Ada Darlene Johnson.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memories: five sisters, Linda Ross of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Darrine (Dody) Thompkins of Michigan City, Indiana, Robin (Stanley) Mason also of Michigan City, Indiana, Dedra Allen of Atlanta, Georgia and one special sister Rita Thompkins of Jackson, Missouri. Four brothers: Brandon McClendon of Harvey, Illinois, Vincent Thompkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Harry Thompkins of Michigan City, Indiana and Richard smith of Battle Creek, Michigan. In addition Raymond leaves Special cousins: Chuch (Diane) Willis of California, Elvia Jean Childress of Pulaski, Illinois Lawrence Willis, Millicent Willis, Brian Thomas, Mike (Catherine) Bone, Glen (Carol) Childress, Kith (Meka) Childress, DD (Cathy) Childress and Queadra (Julius) Salley. One special aunt Francis Thomas of Miami, Florida and special Uncle John Willis of Madison Wisconsin and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives "Everybody Loved Raymond'
Graveside Services for Raymond Thomas Thompkins will be held on Thursday September 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Elder. Roy Johnson officiating and burial in the Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday at Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, Illinois from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm . Online Condolences may be left at massiefuneralhome.com
