Raymond Tini Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bateman-Allen Funeral Home - Brookhaven on Feb. 12, 2026.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond F. Tini, Jr., who departed this life on February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Ray was born on August 1, 1953, in Upland, Pennsylvania, to the late Raymond F. Tini and Agnes (Jusiewicz) Tini. He was raised in Delaware County and attended St. Robert's School. As a young boy, Ray showed his strong work ethic early, delivering newspapers before school. He graduated from St. James High School and later attended the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology.

During the Vietnam Conflict, Ray proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, working at the Pentagon.

Throughout his life, Ray worked for several organizations, beginning his career as a mechanic with Westinghouse. He later worked at the VA Medical Center in Coatesville, Harrah's Casino, and Covanta.

Ray was known for his incredible gift of gab - he could strike up a conversation with anyone. While working as a slot technician at Harrah's, he especially loved chatting with customers and was known to bring candy to share, a small gesture that reflected his generous spirit.

Ray cherished time spent traveling with his beloved wife, Janet. He loved trips to the Jersey Shore and visiting Massachusetts and Maine to spend time with Janet's extended family. One of his favorite adventures included traveling to Las Vegas, where he eagerly explored the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, capturing photos of every remarkable sight.

A passionate home cook, Ray found joy in preparing meals - especially Italian dishes inspired by recipes he learned from his grandmother. Cooking for family and friends was one of his greatest pleasures.

Ray was a kind, generous, and warm-hearted man whose smile could light up a room. He treasured time with family and friends, especially the next generation of nieces and nephews. He also looked forward each year to attending the Delaware County Walk for the Wounded and the Stand Down for Veterans in Philadelphia.

Ray is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife, Janet (Howarth) Tini; his sister, Barbara Tini Hoeger; his nieces and nephews, Melissa Parisi (Torian), Joel Hoeger (Elizabeth), and John Jacob Hoeger; as well as his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his warmth, laughter, and generous heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 10:00am -11:45am at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Avenue Brookhaven Pa. 19015 followed by his funeral service at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ray's name to the Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 or by clicking this link Wounded Warrior Project
