In Loving Memory
Raymond Clyde Voight Jr.
April 16, 1957 – February 16, 2026
Raymond Clyde Voight Jr., known to most simply as Ray, passed away on February 16, 2026, following a heart attack. He was born on April 16, 1957, in
Houston, Texas.
At the age of 17, Ray proudly joined the United States Navy, an experience he carried with pride throughout his life. After his service, his outgoing personality and natural ability to connect with people led him into sales, where he worked with everything from cars to mobile homes. One of the roles he found most meaningful was helping families achieve the dream of homeownership through down payment assistance.
Later in life, Ray became a self-employed handyman and a true jack-of-all-trades, known for being able to fix almost anything. He continued working with his hands until he was forced to retire after losing his leg.
Ray lived his life guided by faith and the belief to "never give up," a lesson he shared often with his children and with those around him. He loved being around children and dogs and often joked that he never planned to grow up.
Family meant everything to Ray, especially his grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He loved gathering with family, sharing stories, laughter, and bits of wisdom wrapped in humor. Ray will be remembered for his generous heart, his listening ear, and the laughter he brought into the lives of so many. His memory will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
The family of Raymond Clyde Voight Jr. would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the many acts of kindness, prayers, calls, flowers, and words of comfort shown during this difficult time. Your love and support have meant more to us than words can express.
Raymond Clyde Voight Jr. is survived by his loving wife, Judy Lackey; his daughters, Amanda and her husband Jared Cavender, Raydean Voight, Tina and her husband Tim Peña, and Ashley Voight; and his sons, Thomas Voight and Bradford Voight.
