Raymond T. Wargo, 95, of Shelton, passed away on October 3, 2025. Born on October 1, 1930 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late James and Margaret Hisam Wargo.

A proud Veteran, he served four honorable years in the United States Air Force, but his true passion was art. With a gifted hand and creative eye, he brought the world to life through painting, drawing, and portraiture. His talent did not end with him-it lives on in his son and grandchildren, who continue his artistic legacy with pride.

He was also a devoted musician, finding peace and purpose in classical music. Whether at the organ or piano, he filled the room with melody-often performing pieces he composed himself, having written his own sheet music by hand.

When not creating, he found joy in the simpler rhythms of life. He loved golf, being outdoors, especially mowing the lawn on his beloved tractor. Family gatherings often revolved around yard games, billiards, ping pong, and most recently corn hole (where he often won) - always with laughter, light competition, and his warm presence at the center of it all.

A loyal New York Giants fan, he cheered every game with heart, win or lose.

He was a man of talent, deep love, and lasting influence. His legacy is not only in the art he made or the music he played, but in the moments he gave so freely to his family and friends.

Raymond is survived by his son, Stephen (Maureen) Wargo; his grandchildren, Craig (Alessandra) Wargo, Julia Wargo, Jesse Wargo, and Billie Hames; his great grandchildren, Talia and Kaylee Fuller; Robin's partner, John Orkins, as well as many nieces, and nephews. Raymond is predeceased by his former wife, Virginia Lydiksen-Wargo; daughter, Robin Wargo and his great granddaughter, Michelle Fuller.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with military honors at 5:30 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
