Raymond N. Wear, 84, of Tyngsboro, MA, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 5, 1941, in Newburgh, NY, Ray was the son of the late Charles Wear and Josephine Reidda. He dedicated his career to working as a research electrical engineer, and his passion for electronics was evident throughout his life. A true tinkerer at heart, Ray spent countless hours at his workbench, whether fixing gadgets or building new ones. His well-known expertise and problem-solving abilities allowed him to offer insightful guidance to others. He was also an enthusiastic CB radio hobbyist and enjoyed the sense of community it brought him.

Ray was an adventurer at heart. He loved visiting the scenic areas of Rhode Island, Maine, and the White Mountains. Whether fishing, canoeing, or biking, Ray treasured time spent outdoors with his family, creating memories that will last a lifetime. His zest for gardening and love of nature were contagious.

Ray was a dedicated family man who gave his all to those he loved. He is survived by his devoted wife, Alice Wear of Tyngsboro, MA; his daughters, Christine Wayne of Tyngsboro, MA, and Belinda Sawyer and her husband Brian of Merrimack, NH; his grandchildren, Rebecca Donnelly and her husband Christopher of Shirley, MA, Cassandra Deakin and her husband Zachery of Tyngsboro, MA, Brianna Sawyer and her fiancé Dante Bucci, Brandon Sawyer, and Blake Sawyer, all of Merrimack, NH. Ray is also survived by his sister, Nancy Johnson and her husband Dale of Bristol, CT, and his sister-in-law Therese Houston of Villa Park, CA, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother- and father-in-law, Jeanne and Louis Roy, as well as his brother-in-law, Bernard Houston.

Ray’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate and dedicated staff at St. Joseph Hospital for their exceptional care during his final days. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. His family asks that those who knew him remember him by sharing a kind word or story, as Ray’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched and will be deeply missed.
