Raymond Barger Weigel Raymond B. Weigel, 71, of Cranford passed away on Tuesday, October 18th. Family and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at GrayMemorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave. in Cranford. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Church, 40 Alden St. in Cranford. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Ray was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Seton Hall University. Ray was a retired Supervisor at the Union County Board of Social Services in Elizabeth. He enjoyed collecting classic cars and spending time with his family and friends on Newfound Lake in NH. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Julie Storz Weigel; two sons, Raymond W. and his wife, Meredith, and Andrew; two brothers, John and Robert and his wife, Barbara, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Ray was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Martha Weigel; siblings, Edgar Jr., Nancy Drum her husband, Douglas and nephew, James Drum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Dear Julie & family, I am shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Ray. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May the sympathy of all who care for you and the precious memory of Ray help comfort you at this sad time. I have wonderful memories of my visits to Newfound Lake ( a long time ago) and Ray always made me smile, he had a wonderful way about him & a contagious smile.
