Raymond Whitaker, a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, in North Carolina at the age of 90. Born on November 9, 1934, in Michigan, Raymond lived a life dedicated to his family and community.

Throughout his career, Raymond served as a police officer, offering protection and peace to those around him. He found fulfillment in a role with the telephone company, displaying the same dedication and integrity that marked his years in law enforcement.

Raymond was a devoted father to his children, Craig Whitaker and his wife Nancy, Wade Whitaker and his wife Helen, and Carri Ormiston and her husband Chris. He is also his brother, Frank Whitaker and his wife Kitty. His legacy continues through his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Whitaker, his mother, Alta Hemingway, and his brother, George Whitaker, her daughter Jodi Kohn and granddaughter, Erica Kohn. Raymond's memory will be treasured by those he leaves behind, including his family and friends who mourn his passing yet celebrate his life.

Raymond's greatest pride was found in his role as a father and grandfather, a testament to the love and strength that defined his character. He will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family.

May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
