Raymond "Ray" White, 85, a devoted husband, loving father, and lifelong adventurer, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in
Philadelphia, PA, Ray built a life defined by loyalty, leadership, strong values, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Carol (Shaw), whose partnership and love were the foundation of his life. Together they raised their four loving children: Raymond (Lori), Robert (Julie), Karen (Doug), and Ryan (Sherry). Their growing family blessed them with many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren, each of whom brought them enormous pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, and his mother, Juliet.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Ray carried a deep sense of duty, discipline, and pride throughout his life. Through the years, he gave his time and talents to various organizations, including the Coast Guard Auxiliary and his local community as a member of the Board. He built a long and dedicated career with Otis Elevator (IUEC) in construction and maintenance. Well known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Ray embraced life with enthusiasm and optimism. He enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, and traveling with Carol at his side. His passion for the open road led him and Carol to become active and devoted members of the Retread International Motorcycle Club for over 30 years, including time serving as New Jersey state representatives. His involvement brought him lifelong friendships and a community he cherished deeply. He especially looked forward to talking with friends each week-most notably the Sunday morning phone calls-which were a constant source of joy and connection.
Known for his upbeat attitude, positive spirit, and gift for lifting the hearts of those around him, Ray leaves behind a legacy of strength, humor, generosity, and genuine kindness that will continue to shine through his family and friends.
He had a soft spot for animals and treated them with exceptional compassion. To know Ray was to know a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and never stopped seeking new horizons.
Ray will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
No services will be held. Everyone is invited to remember Ray in their own way.
