Raymond Michael Wicker, 74, of Cary passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He was born in Chicago on March 12, 1951, to Leonard and Eileen (Murphy) Wicker.

Ray grew up in Chicago and graduated from St. Patrick High School. He was known for his quick wit and endless dad jokes that kept everyone laughing. Easygoing, lighthearted, and always optimistic, Ray had a gift for lifting the mood of those around him. He believed deeply in the power of manifestation, thinking positively and creating the life you want, and he lived each day with a smile.

Sports were a big part of his joy, and as a true Chicago native, he was a devoted Cubs and Bears fan.

Ray is survived by his children, Lindsey (Joseph) Murray and Ryan (fiancée Shannon) Wicker; and his sister, Joanne (Bob) Feely. In addition to his immediate family, Ray will be forever cherished by a wonderful extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Wicker.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue Thursday, October 2, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
