Raymond “Hunk” Allen Wilson, 71, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with pastor Steve Hinton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
Hunk was born in Rockingham County to the late Raymond Howard Wilson and Aileen Barts Wilson. He was a selfless and hardworking man, always putting loved ones first. Hunk was a jack of all trades; he worked in maintenance and as an electrician over many years, and he always enjoyed building things and working outside. He loved classic rock or country music, playing cards, and any western movie on TV.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by grandson, Chance Wilson, grand dog, Reid, and grand cat Molly Bee.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Linda Wilson; son, Christopher Wilson (Shannon) of Stroudsburg, PA and daughter, Ginger Wharton (Phillip) of Reidsville, NC; grandchildren, Zoey, Shiloh, Dallas, Megan (Brandon) and Morgan (Michael); great granddaughter, Addison; grand dog, Cooper; grand cat, Archi; brother, Michael Wilson as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County at P.O. Box 281 Wentworth, NC 27375.
