Raymond Lee Wilson, 75, Passed away Peacefully at Annie Penn Hospital on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
A funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Covington Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Raymond Lee Wilson was born in Rockingham County to the late Willie P Wilson and Mildred Southard. Raymond had a big, loving and giving heart and would go out of his way to help his friends. Raymond loved working with his hands and could make anything he set his mind too. He loved fishing and spending time at Buggs Island. Raymond loved singing, playing the guitar and writing music. He played music and sang at Brookdale for over 25 years. He did that faithfully until he was unable due to declining health. Raymond was a dedicated member of Covington Wesleyan Church and enjoyed spending time with his church family. Raymond retired from American Tobacco Company with many years of service as a fixer. Most of all he loved his family.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Diane Wilson; brothers, Paul, Curtis, and Tommy Joe Wilson; sisters, Joann Wilson Wray and Linda Wilson Starnes.
Raymond is survived by his stepchildren, grandchildren, and siblings, Jerry Southard, Elaine Stone, James Lee Wilson, Michael Wilson and Colene Howard; loving canine companion, Sarge; he is also survived by a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covington Wesleyan Church at 3218 Vance Street Ext., Reidsville, NC 27320.
